About the Author
Martin M. Bednar, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Martin Bednar is a board certified neurosurgeon who has enjoyed introducing a generation of children (and adults!) to Sandy Cat, an absolutely adorable kitty who adopted his family a decade ago.
In a series of three wonderfully illustrated books, Dr. Bednar captures Sandy Cat's real-life struggles and triumphs. Sandy reminds us that life's greatest challenges also provide us with equally great opportunities that can be defining moments in our lives. Sandy's Vision encourage us to persevere in the face of adversity while Sandy's Dream invites us to strive for the noblest dream of all - helping others. Sandy's Gift reminds us of life's most precious gift - the gift of time. It is the greatest gift we can hope to give or receive!
Dr. Bednar's professional life is devoted to developing new medicines for a wide range of neurologic and inflammatory disorders and, most importantly, he enjoys sharing the gift of time with his wife Arlean and extended family and friends in southeastern Connecticut. He is a proud member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and the Connecticut Authors and Publishers Association (CAPA).
